Source Forms: Paintings from within
Exhibit February 24 to April 12
Source Forms: Paintings from within’ welcomes you to explore the relationship between creative instinct and organic forms with new work by Henken Bean and Eva Kozlowski. The two artists’ contrasted styles highlight the inherent friction between what is imagined, expressed, and refined through the lens of the individual. With a focus on feeling and form, our combined body of work hopes to awaken the viewer to their creator within.

Henken Bean is an artist and designer, living and working in Philadelphia. Her art is a process of self-discovery and inner work; determining a blueprint for what’s next by organizing automatic actions into tangible and vivid realities. She uses her thoughts, experiences, and emotions to translate that which is ineffable into physical worlds. Expression and refinement coalesce in a series of forms greater than the initial spark of inspiration. The work can only hope to blossom into meaning for those who welcome it in.
Eva Kozlowski’s practice is centered around the experience of working from invention. Tuning into the present moment to depict what is felt into forms is the utmost challenge and pleasure. Nature’s designs are a constant source of inspiration for her; achieving similar senses of balance and peace are her primary intentions. Telling stories and creating visual worlds through paint is her greatest joy.
