“Reaching Rooting”

I am excited to be sharing this collection that spans over two decades of my work. The theme of “Reaching Rooting” is evident in many of my paintings. I hold the notion that we are not merely human beings on a spiritual journey, but rather souls embarked on a human experience. It suggests that our lives are chapters in a grander narrative, where each joy and sorrow, triumph and trial, is an opportunity for growth and enlightenment.

Rooting implies connecting to the Earth and Nature, to the physical body, and my ancestral DNA. Reaching, I strive to experience more fully the communion of my soul center with the Divine Source. (Look for the weaving lines in my work, as these often symbolize Reaching and Rooting to me!)

When I call myself an "artist" I think of my creative life as a whole and how each of my passions has fueled the other. My web of creativity includes my years of dance training and teaching, my choreography, my garden, poems and stories, my graphic, scenery and costume design, mural work, and my painting. Each thread of this web has grown and connected to the others in its own time and often in exciting synchronicity. My most recent paintings begin with a deliberate intention, that I often write or code in lines and symbols in the underpainting. The finished work may tell another story! I also believe that the story changes with the viewer and it is fate that brings the painting and viewer together at a certain time and place. I share photos of the steps of my painting process online, in my website and social media accounts. My followers enjoy watching how the work unfolds and transforms. I believe the process is as valuable to me as the finished product, and find that seeing what’s ‘underneath it all’ only adds to the potency of the message for the viewer. Flow, energy, vibration and resonance are words I would use to describe what I feel when I am painting. I have studied with Shiloh Sophia at Musea.org, and her Intentional Creativity method has been a catalyst for my artistic development these past few years.

I have published three Dance Dreams Coloring Books and over 2,000 copies have traveled the world! The first volume is based on my dance inspired paintings. My work resides in private collections throughout the US, Europe and Australia.

I sell prints of all my work on a variety of mediums. I also accept commissions, do live painting exhibitions, and offer Intuitive Painting Experiences for individuals and groups. I am a member of the Arts and Cultural Council of Bucks County, where I have displayed my work and been a featured online contributor.
