“Leaf” Life Story Reading
Join us for a Fun and Heartwarming Story Time with Stephanie Rodigas! “Leaf” a children's story and art experience engages people, both children and adults, in conversations about life, death, and interconnectedness, all while incorporating nature and mindfulness. Together, we’ll explore big ideas like life, change, and how everything in nature is always connected, all in a simple and gentle way. Perfect for both kids and adults who are curious about the world around us!
As part of the Emerging Stories art exhibit, this interactive event invites you to listen to the story while surrounded by beautiful artwork.
Woven into a context of natural-world characters sharing personal accounts of their journey transforming across various forms, Leaf offers a unique, poetic, touching perspective on the most basic principle of nature: that everything is constantly changing, and that underlying, eternal essence or part of our being that remains ever-connected to everything, everywhere.
Inspired by the work of Buddhist monk and peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh, this moving inquiry helps us all gently contemplate our mortality and interconnectedness in a simple, mindful, creative way.
This is not a religious endeavor; people of all backgrounds and faith are welcome. The story is an exploration of one possibility among many, not imposing beliefs, and will be shared as such.
Open to all ages curious about life, death and how to talk about them mindfully, tenderly. Children must be accompanied by an adult. RSVP with Stephanie."
Admission is free, donations accepted. 25% of any proceeds are donated to St. Thomas.
